The Dust Bowl

The time was the 1930s and after years of drought and poor farming practices the land had turned to dust.  The conditions forced many families to move away from the south in search of more suitable land.  I'm particularly interested in this historical event because my father's family was forced out of Oklahoma and migrated to California during this time.

The Dust Bowl is a staple of all U.S. history curriculums. Here is a collection of videos teachers can use to when talking about this period of time.
